ICON Restoration was entrusted with executing critical accessibility and exterior upgrades at 2 Surrey Place in Toronto. This project focused on ensuring compliance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) by enhancing outdoor pathways, entryways, and public access points.

The Challenge

The existing exterior infrastructure did not meet modern accessibility standards, presenting mobility challenges for residents and visitors. Our goal was to implement durable and safe modifications while preserving the aesthetics of the building’s exterior.

Key Issues:

  • Non-compliant entryways requiring accessibility modifications
  • Uneven or deteriorating pathways creating mobility hazards
  • Insufficient handrails and ramp systems
  • Drainage concerns leading to surface wear and safety risks
  • Need for durable, weather-resistant materials

Our Approach

We developed a comprehensive accessibility upgrade plan, ensuring that all enhancements aligned with AODA regulations and improved overall safety.
